Frank Ross' Lovers

An unusual film for the porn genre; Frank Ross uses interviews with the stars, turning them more into protagonists that engage in sexuallly explicit behavior, than models who fuck. Ross goes back-and-forth between the free-form discussion between each couple and the raw, primal sex acts they perform, with equal intensity on each. And each couple brings some unique perspectives, ranging from being together for a few months to 20+ years, and the contrast between what each couple discusses is fascinating. Not only hot porn, but an intimate and engaging film that broke ground when it was originally released (1986).

Tom and Butch

Butch Taylor was a popular porn star that appeared in a number of films (Excess, Hard to Hold, Manimals) when he moved to San Diego and met Tom Woods, a lesser-known model (Manplay). Shortly thereafter, the couple moved back to New York and shot this scene for Ross, discussing how and where they met, how their relationship developed post-first hookup, and what they're both into. The discussion is easy and free-flowing, with cuts between the dialogue and hardcore action. First, Butch licks Tom's nipples and pits, then moves down to suck his already rock-hard cock. Although the shortest scene, you can see that they care deeply about one another, and have found a way to accomodate their fetish within the confines of a long-term relationship. They discuss the fact that they are not monogomous (you might recognize Donald and his bathtub from Jack Stone's WET), yet genuinely get each other off. As noted at the end of the film, it's dedicated to Tray -- Christopher Rage's nickname -- who passed in 1992.
